No. 01302 782342 Matthew Stiles' chemist's shop was a well known landmark in Doncaster at the turn of the last century but apart from selling photographic equipment and chemicals he also took some of the most memorable photographs ever taken of Doncaster people and their enviroment. Many of these photographs will be on view for the first time.

Since 1776 the annual St Leger Festival has been a major event in Doncaster’s sporting and social calendar. This year, to celebrate the festival, we will be displaying some of the many paintings and objects in the collection of Doncaster Museum Service devoted to the races, including a number of images by that famous painter of horses J.F. Herring.
