Doncaster Racecourse have today confirmed that ‘Madness’, one of the most successful chart bands in Britain’s music history, will ‘launch’ a string of live music events scheduled to take place at Town Moor throughout July. Known globally for their twenty-one top-twenty singles over seven years in the late seventies and eighties, including ‘It Must Be Love’, ‘Baggy Trousers’, ‘My Girl’ and ‘One Step Beyond’, the band’s sound developed from their early Ska roots and set the tone for almost three decades of complete Madness! Suggs and Co. will take to the stage at Doncaster on Saturday 28 June with a fantastic live Premium outdoor concert to kick off a line up of three more Urban-i Live Music shows scheduled to take place at the racecourse on 10, 17 and 24 July, all Thursday evening race meetings, with the music starting shortly after the last race on each date. Ladies and gents dressed to impress and really got into the Moulin Rouge mood and style, whilst enjoying a full and exciting evening of racing. Race goer and ‘Best Themed Outfit’ competition winner Linda Dykstra of Scunthorpe, who was celebrating a special birthday, said of the evening: “It’s absolutely wonderful, it’s been a completely different way to celebrate my birthday, it has combined the excitement of the racing, the fun of dressing in the theme of the event and the Moulin Rouge entertainment, whoever thought of this was truly inspired!” Further themed events are planned throughout the summer racing season starting with the Free Press Irish Themed night on Saturday 17 May watch out for special offers and competitions coming soon in the press.
