Doncaster Racecourse has long held the tradition of bestowing the first baby born on St. Leger Day every September with the title of the St. Leger Baby and last year was no different. The racecourse welcomed little Thomas Peter Talbot (who weighed in at a healthy 8lb 10oz on the 12th September last year just after midnight) to enjoy his first day's racing with his parents.
As the St. Leger Baby little Thomas will become an Honorary Annual Member at Doncaster Racecourse for life on his 16th birthday. The racecourse invited Thomas and his parents, Toni Bowman and Thomas Talbot Snr. of Stainforth, Doncaster to the racecourse to enjoy a day's racing courtesy of the course, in the Mallard Restaurant. Thomas's mum Toni said: 'We were really shocked when we learned Thomas was the 2009 Leger Baby, we didn't realise that Doncaster Racecourse did this. We are both really pleased as Thomas's dad is a huge fan of racing'
