Sutton Common Archaeological Site

Sutton Common Archaeological Site

Sutton Common, located to the north of Doncaster near the former spa town of Askern, is the site of one of the leading integrated conservation, community and farming schemes in the country. Recent excavations of the Iron Age enclosures have uncovered the remains of several houses dating back to at least 400BC. It is thought to be the biggest marshland fort in England.
