This year the St Leger Festival Week will take place between the 6th to 15th September, with the race meetings starting on the 11th and running to the 14th September at Doncaster Racecourse.
The eyes of the world will be on Doncaster as we once again celebrate our rich heritage and culture in the 10 day long St Leger Festival Week, which culminates in the oldest classic race in the world, the St Leger Stakes.

St Leger Festival Week Facts:
Since 1776 the St Leger Stakes – the world’s oldest classic horse race –has been the biggest event in Doncaster’s social calendar.
The St Leger Festival Week is a 10 day celebration of racing, music, fine food, arts and culture. Alongside four days of race meetings, visitors from all over the world will come to enjoy:
Roman soldiers set up camp at the Minster with marches and displays through town (8th & 9th September)
Doncaster Live – a free open air rock concert in the historic Market Place (8th & 9th September)
Opera, live music and dancing in Regent Square (13th to 15th September)
Champagne breakfasts at venues throughout town
Live music throughout the week, from jazz to folk to rock
Special shows at the Civic Theatre, Doncaster Little Theatre and The Dome, with comedy nights, plays and live bands
Funfairs at Doncaster racecourse
Beer Festivals
Organ recitals and wine tasting at the Minster
And much, much more!
Stay a few extra nights in Doncaster and enjoy shopping at Doncaster Market (now officially the best in Britain), the Frenchgate Centre or Lakeside and take in some of the top attractions such as Brodsworth Hall, Conisbrough Castle or the Yorkshire Wildlife Park with its lions and tigers!
