Access Keys
Access Keys are keyboard shortcuts which allow the visitor to navigate around the website without having to use a mouse or other pointing tool. The advantages of using access keys is that it can be quicker than using a mouse or other pointing tool. How you use the access key depends on the browser you are using.

If you use Internet Explorer:

  1. Press and hold the ‘Alt’ key
  2. Press the required letter/number
  3. Release the keys and press the ‘enter’ key   

If you use Netscape Navigator or Mozilla Firefox:

  1. Press and hold the ‘Alt’ key
  2. Press the required letter/number

Browsers and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
The site can be viewed on a screen setting of 800 x 600 pixels and should be capable of being viewed on a variety of browsers. If you have difficulty with the clarity of the site we have modified the structure of the layouts in order for you to change the site's basic appearance. This can be done by changing your browser defaults so that you can change the appearance of the background colour, the size and font setting. 

Please note that this site was designed for browsers that support Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).

It is recommended that you use the most up to date version of a browser (the program you use to view web pages) that supports CSS.

Change your browser appearance  

To change the appearance of your browser please use the instructions below for the following browsers...

Internet Explorer 4 -To change the Background colour

  • Select  Internet Options within  Views Menu.
  • Ensure the tab at the top of the window is set to  General.
  • Select the  Color button at the bottom of the window.
  • Ensure the  Use Windows Colors is not ticked.
  • Select either of the  Text or  Background buttons and select new colours from the options.
  • Select  OK to make your settings, you will have to Select 3  OK's before you return to your browser window.             

Internet Explorer 4 - Change the Font size

  • Within the View Menu select Font Size.
  • Choose the Font size you wish for...i.e. Larger, Largest. Internet Explorer 5.0 & 6.0 -To change the Background colour   
  • Select  Internet Options within the  Tools Menu.
  • Ensure the tab at the top of the window is set to  General.
  • Select the  Accessibility button at the bottom right of the window
  • Tick the  Ignore colors specified on web pages box.
  • Select  OK
  • Select the  Color button at the bottom of the window.
  • Ensure the  Use Windows Colors is not ticked.
  • Select either of the  Text or  Background buttons and select new colours from the options.
  • Select  OK to make your settings, you will have to Select 3  OK's before you return to your browser window.   

Internet Explorer 5.0 & 6.0 - Change the Font size

  • Within the View Menu select Text Size.
  • Choose the Text size you wish for...i.e Larger, Largest.             

Netscape Navigator -To change the Background colour

  • Select  Preferences from the  Edit Menu
  • From the  Category section of the left Select the  + next to  Appearance so that  Font and  Colors appears.
  • Select  Colors
  • Ensure the  Use Windows Colors is not ticked.
  • Select either of the  Text or  Background buttons and select new colours from the options.
  • Select  OK to make your settings
  • Select  OK to return to your browser             

Netscape Navigator - Change the Font size

  • In the  View Menu select either Increase Font size or  Decrease Font Size until you find the right size.      

 

Can I download from the site?

Any Doncaster MBC page displayed in a browser can be saved to a local drive. We do not technically prevent our pages from being downloaded. 

Can I print out pages? Pages displayed on this web site can be printed out from a web browser.
